The tolerance band is always either gold for the standard 10% tolerance,
or silver for the
precision 5% tolerance. (All the resistors here are standard
tolerance). The other three bands represent digits/numbers according

Because the Ohm symbol 'Ω' is a bit of a pain to use on a computer, a
common convention is to suffix resistor values with a capital 'R', and
kilo-Ohm and mega-Ohm values with 'K' and 'M' respectively. For
example, 180Ω, 33kΩ, and 1.2MΩ become 180R (or just 180), 33K, and
1.2M.
